Water polo prelims today

Well done to our Y9 to 13 water polo squad for a plucky match against Lanta today.  We weren’t fielding our strongest side due to other commitments and sickness but we did give it 100%.  Our players can be very proud of their 3-3 draw.  I haven’t had official confirmation yet but I think that means we’re through to the final on Wed 30/1 during the Y9+10 swimming gala.  Let’s hope all of our players are fit by then!

MVD (Most Valuable Dragon) goes to Martin in Y10 for scoring the equaliser with just 2 seconds left on the clock – awesome!

The sign up opens now!  Follow these step by step instructions to make sure you get signed up for the right races.

Step 1 – check your swimming division

Use these links to see what division you’re in:

ü A = our top swimmers who will enter the most competitive races

ü B = good swimmers who will enter competitive races that are slightly shorter

ü C = weaker swimmers who will enter the alternative races

A couple of people have got question marks by their names.  I’ve already asked the PE dept to let me know what category you should be in and I will update when I hear back from them.

Step 2 – check what races are available

Anything without a name by it is free!  All the rules are on these links too, down at the bottom of the document.

Step 3 – sign up with your Year Leaders

After you’ve decided what races you want to enter then you need to contact your Year Leaders because they have editing rights to the above documents.  Registration is a good time to do this if you tutor will allow you.  Here are the names of your Year Leaders:

·        Y7 = Dan Campton 7M, Oliver Della Bosca 7H, Natalie Seaton 7M, Nalinnipa (Annie) Robertson 7H

·        Y8 = James Ure 8P, Liam Coutts 8T, Ella Busby 8P, Serri Matula 8T, Yae Rim Park 8T

·        Y9 = Alexander Kiechle-Cornish 9M, Alan Utharntharm 9G, Nucky Korprasertsri 9M, Anais West 9G

·        Y10 = Jong Young Lee 10S, Bailey Sailes 10P, Madeleine Andrews 10S, Sudthatada (Kate) Wattanavekin 10P

Step 4 – fill any gaps

During tutorial on…

·        Thursday 17/1 – Y9 and 10

·        Thursday 24/1 – Y7 and 8

…you will meet as a year group so we can fill any gaps in the sign up and resolve any problems.  Ideally, the vast majority of the sign up will be completed before these sessions as they are very short – only 10 minutes!

Hope this is all straightforward.  Please be proactive about supporting your house and sign up for lots of races.  I’m sure I don’t need to remind you how important full participation is after House Athletics this year!

Great start to recycling and credits!

Our fantastic Y7s already got us off to an amazing start this morning with more recycling than the bins could possibly take – it was piled up on the top too!

The credits that they earned have shot us into the lead for Credits too – just look at that compared to the other houses!

Who’s going to be the first KS4 student to get us a Commendation and put us into the lead there too?!
